"I've taught myself early (in high school probably) to superimpose historical periods of big changes onto "our" times. Very educational. For example, the period between the two great world wars (1918–1939) was only about 20 years – like from 1993 to 2013. How about living in such a period. Gives you a much stronger understanding of the potential for dramatic change... against the natural tendency to see the future as a continuation of the present."

"In high school, I played in a hard rock band for over 3 years. And here is the strangest thing you ever heard of – we NEVER made a recording of us playing. We never took photos of our "concerts". We do NOT have a single picture of us... nothing, nada... as if this never happened. We never asked to see pictures that other people may have made of us. It all lives only in our heads now... I still don't know exactly why we did not record anything. I remember that we discussed that from time to time... but never did something about it. We were truly into this rock idea of the experience only, I guess. Somehow we felt above the need to record. And to this day, I feel totally ok with that. Never wanted to see how we really sounded or looked like. We are free to remember it the way we lived it."
